There seems to be a contradiction with lamb nappa leather - many people say it is luxury and soft but others say it looks like cheap faux leather due to the slight shine. I tried one on which is Italian leather but there is just something about the shine that is dubious.

From searching on styleforum a few people seem to believe Italian nappa leathers are mostly on the thin side as well. Although I have no way of measuring or comparing, the jacket felt thin but was double lined in many places so overall is not very light. This would be my first leather jacket and I want to love it but this seems like a tricky leather to start with.

This would a random example. The one I tried fits similar to that including the seam looking like it's just over the edge of the shoulder.
