Just picked up a "Napoli di Nordstrom" cashmere sportcoat from the Nordstrom men's sale, $399 marked down from $845. Seems like a great jacket, fully canvassed, pick stitched, etc. Any idea who makes it? Says "Made in USA" on it, and it's Loro Piana cashmere.

Believe it or not a salesperson told me they were by Southwick.

It wouldn't shock me....The few items from that line I have seen have been pretty well made (ties and jackets). Tons of it ends up at the Rack near me b/c people have no idea what to shop for in terms of quality vs. a label.

I just picked up two SC's yesterday at the South Coast Plaza Rack. They appear to be very well constructed and the cashmere is beautiful. I got a solid caramel and a tan/brown houndstooth. Each was $319 with an MSRP 895.

I think they are a great bargain but if anyone has any updated/current info on the manufacture, I would appreciate it.

Thanks, jtn

Hi guys, long time lurker, first time caller. I just picked up a Napoli di Nordstrom tie at a Goodwill that really caught my attention. The material is substantial, and the lining (or façade, whatever you call the netting they use to cover the exposed innards of a tie) is the same fabric as the rest of the tie (i.e. everything is silk). Now, I'll readily admit I'm still new at all this, but I was impressed by the construction of this piece. Any idea who makes these ties? Does Southwick make ties? Thanks.

edit: after doing some digging around, I found that the term I was looking for is 'self-tipped'. The keeper is cut from a different piece of fabric, but looks like silk nonetheless.
