My girlfriend agreed to naming our new girl puppy Sartoria... am I out of my mind?

Well, if you like it it, but a couple things:

1) It's overwrought.

2) You are not going to call her "Sartoria" all the time since it's four syllables. I hope you like the sound of Sart, Sarty, or S.

3) People are going to think it's a weird name and ask you what it means. Then they will know it is.

I just think it's silly to mix hobbies in that way. What if you stop caring so much about clothes? How are you going to explain it to the neighbours or the vet? Are your kids going to think that's a fun name? I guess the closest analogy I can come up with is having seat covers for your Honda made from H&S summer weight cashmere. If you do go through with it, get a pug or Boston terrier. Then you can call it Sart for short and tell people it's named after Sartre.
