2 inches bigger the tagged size? so the 29s i got were actually 31s? this doesn't make any sense i wear 30s in rock and republic and the 29s were almost impossible to button

Yes, with that^^^ said, I would predict you are not truly a size 30 then. Do measure yourself and that will help loads in selecting the correct sizes right off the bat on a multitude of brands.

Wow.... a respectful "new person" (to N&F & Raw/Salvedge). Lots of really good info in this thread if you take a little time to skim through it.

BTW, Blue Owl has the most updated measurements & Jay will actually measure the pairs he has in stock and ship the best match for you.

Hey all, new to the site and new to raws, I'm a little over a month into my skinny guy LHT's and am loving them. Not much for evo pics around on the LHT's so I dont really know what to look forward to but Im digging them nonetheless.

Really debating between the Oni collabs or the MomoxBlue Owl vintage Skinny straights. I understand that they are both completely different cuts, and that the denim is also very different. If I am looking for texture and some slub, I suspect the Oni denim would be the way to go? And I figured that since these are unsaf. then I could easily shrink them down. The weird guy is usually much too baggy for me; with a tagged 28 measuring out to a size 30.5 waist. I figure if I warm/hot soak them I can get the waist closer to a 29 (and the rest of the jeans to fit accordingly. With the Momo's, however, I am in the dark since I have never tried on any of their other selections. My guess is the Skinny straight cut for this collabo. is similar to an NF skinny guy? I usually wear a size 28 in sg, depending on the fabric, so a 29 not taking shrinking into account would most likely fit what I am looking for. (if my assumption is correct)

I will most likely end up with both (eventually) since I currently have no none "heavy" denim in my closet. But the real question is, which should I get first? I hate to be this guy, the indecisive parasite leeching this thread of any real discussion and discourse, but alas I am weak. [IMG]

    TIA

The Onis are super low rise, take that into account!

WG are usually mid to low rise, are these even lower than say the BJ collab or any other weird guy. Or is it about the same? If that's the case, I can live with a mid to low rise.

I own the Oni collabs and can attest with Afixed the rise is extremely low. I feel almost lower than standard WG. Another thing to take into account is your height. The Oni's are I believe 34 length and unsanforized so they will shrink in length a little when washed. Something to take into account for taller gentlemen, I'm barely able to wear them due to both of these qualities.

Well I am really short, 5.4" on a good day but closer to 5.3" so the length is not really a problem but more of a chore really. Does tate and yoko hem and chain stitch orders like Blue Owl? Also any chance you can post a recent fit pic? How did these shrink by the way? assuming you soaked them...

Here is my $0.02, Oni Collab has one less button fly than regular WG's, meaning even lower rise than usual WG jeans. Also, if you aren't in for the fit, really MomoXBOW will be a better pick for you.

Random NF thought: My NFXBJ is finally showing some sign of fading here and there, along with imminent crotch rips :embar: Will post pics before I send them to repair.

ps. Brand new model of your Sammys for sale can be bought at almost same price! I recommend price adjustment :)

The Sams are essentially new minus the one time soak. Also the price is never set in stone that goes without saying. Honestly, the more I walk by them every day the more I want to wear them. Maybe another hot soak and a hem... may keep them. However if I can sell them for a reasonable price I will just buy a size down.

Most big name pseudo designer / mall brand crap is a solid 2" vanity sized or more.

I have the same experience with the NF/Onis: they're super low rise: they only have three buttons including the top one. They are indeed quite short. I couldn't soak them. I only soaked the top block.
I wear 32/33 in most jeans. I got these in 32 unfortunately, 33 would have been much better. They're super tight and I've got medium thighs. The top button I can close easily.
But the fabric is very special. I really like it. As long as I don't have to sit too much they're ok for me to wear.

Good to see more love for the sulphur blacks. Think they're a great pair.
