    where did you hear this from??? I am thinking I can only wear the slim guy cut from now on....I am coming to the conclusion that the weird guy cut is to small for me (the thighs are to slim, and I am thinking the rise is to low for me). My indigo/indigo WG's are just not comfortable to wear (I only continue to wear them due to the competition) and I can forget about ever using the front pockets haha. I do have a pair of slim guys that I was going to take to the tailor to have them slim down the legs past the knee. I am not a big fan of how wide the leg opening is but the rest of the cut is nice.

    What? You realize the WG is way larger in the thighs and has more rise than the skinny guy, right? That's the whole point of the WG, roomy thigh with taper.

    quick example:

    SG

    * Size 30 (31" waist, 9.5" rise, 10.5" thigh, 7.75" knee, 37" inseam, 7.2" leg opening)
    * Size 31 (32" waist, 9.5" rise, 11" thigh, 8.1" knee, 37" inseam, 7.5" leg opening)
    * Size 32 (33" waist, 9.75" rise, 11.25" thigh, 8.25" knee, 37" inseam, 7.65" leg opening)
    * Size 33 (34.5" waist, 10" rise, 11.25" thigh, 8.5" knee, 37" inseam, 7.8" leg opening)

    WG

    * Size 30 (32.5" waist, 10" rise, 11.75" thigh, 8.35" knee, 35" inseam, 7.2" leg opening)
    * Size 31 (33.5" waist, 10.25" rise, 12" thigh, 8.5" knee, 35" inseam, 7.5" leg opening)
    * Size 32 (34.5" waist, 10.25" rise, 12.25" thigh, 8.75" knee, 35" inseam, 7.65" leg opening)
    * Size 33 (35.5" waist, 10.5" rise, 12.5" thigh, 9" knee, 35" inseam, 7.8" leg opening)

    Slim guy is not going anywhere! I am pushing to get a few special runs made in the near future. For spring, they are conitnuing with several styles that have been around and a couple of new ones. Here is what I know will be available over the next couple months:

    Selvedge Chino
    Lightweight Painter
    Black Selvedge
    Natural Indigo
    Broken Twill
    Solid Black

    There will also be the "regular guy" fit which has a first production coming out next week in a natural indigo denim. The Paulrose line has a 1947 fit called heritage which will give another option for a similar fit.

    This is why there are not more options in the Slim Guy fit. It is catching on, but the Weird Guy is by far more popular because it is a similar in thighs to the Slim Guy and will taper to a smaller leg opening.

    But if you are interested in more Slim Guy fits, I cannot stress enough....please be more vocal! Naked & Famous is listening, but it takes local retailers to purchase the Slim Guy fit and it is the local retailer that needs to see the demand. There needs to be at least 100 pairs or more made to make a denim run worth making, right now I am confidient I can do 20-40 pairs, which means I need 2 or 3 more stores minumum to get the additional denims to do any really crazy fabrics. So keep talking with you local retailers!

    How is the sizing for N+F belts? I'm a 32 for most pants and a 30 for most raw denim. 34? 36?

    Most likely you are a 32 belt. If you are familiar with N&F denims, I am a Weird Guy 30 and Skinny Guy 31 and wear a 32 natural belt on the 2nd hole. If you still have trouble figuring it out, measure a belt you already own and compare to the meausrements on our site.

    My bad. You're right, the measurements I posted were Weird Guy vs. Skinny Guy.

    Tried the Slim Guy once and despised the fit. lol. For reference my thighs are around 24-24.5" and WG fits great.

    The Slim Guy has the same rise as the Weird Guy. I wear size 32 in both, and I measured the front rise at 10.5" on both cuts.

    I don't find that they fit that differently in the upper thigh, but the Weird Guy is a lot tighter around the knees and calves due to its extreme taper.

    I've never measured the differences in the thigh and rise, but even if they are the same, the overall fit can be very different. The WG are tighter in the thighs--maybe it's just the lower?--but the biggest difference is up top. WG are pretty much unwearable for me because I can hardly bend without them falling off my ass. I'm guessing others have this problem, because I don't think many are buying slim guys for the massive knees and ankles.

    I have a slim guy and 31 and the weird guy in a 32.....the SG fits fine...the WG is tight in the thigh and I don't have enough room in the crotch. I also find that when I sit and bend over the back of my WG shows a little crack ;)
    I am not sure if it's the rise that makes a difference or what it is. I know the weight of the denim makes a difference also. The SG are the natural indigo and the WG are the competition jeans which are heavier. I also do not "sag" jeans at all just an fyi.

    This doesn't really sound all that likely.

    Well, I was exaggerating, but it sounds like boomer has the same problem. I've tried on plenty of pairs of slim guys and weird guys. I've gone with multiple sizes, similar fabrics, completely different fabrics, and same fabrics, and the difference in the top block is quite severe.

    I personally think the slim guy cut is the only cut that can universally look good on multiple body types if they are sized for each body type. It's also the only cut by N&F that will last the test of time style wise, WG and skinny guy are two cuts that are in with today's style for people who like very slim cuts. What I'm saying is the slim guy is closest to the traditional 501 by levis. The skinny guy cut probably wont be in style 10 years from now and the weird guy might also be a cut kids don't want to wear anymore.

    Anyone know where I can get thread close to what N&F uses so I can hem my jeans? I'm having trouble finding thicker thread in colors that match the Nep thread and the Brown Canvas thread.

    I went TTS on my WGs...they're a touch loose around the waist but fit well (slim, but not tight) everywhere else, the rise is a bit low but I don't tuck shorts into jeans so its a moot point. I think WG, when sized properly (not everyone needs to go down sizes), is a near perfect universal cut for denim. If you're morbidly obese or stick thin then its probably not right for you, but for the rest of us average folks I think they hit the mark on the fit.

    The Slim Guy does not have the same rise as the Weird Guy. Or it shouldn't, at least.
