Nagrani socks = velcro?

I bought a mixed dozen Nagrani socks last fall and really like them. I have one persistent problem, though: they have a sort of velcro effect on my pants. When I sit down, or take an extra long stride, or do anything that causes my pants to hike up, the hem doesn't drape back to my ankle when I stand. The unlined interior of the pants below the knees seems to have a high frictional coefficient with my Nagranis, and they bunch up in weird ways, sometimes well above the ankle. I don't mind flashing a little sock (this is why I bought them, after all) but it is annoying to have to fussily pull my pant hems down every time I rise from my seat. It happens with many different pairs of odd trousers and suit pants (though not with heavy fabrics like denim or flannel). Does anyone else have this problem?

hmm that is very strange. i have well over a dozen pairs of nagranis from all different years and none of them do that to any jean, cotton, wool, or blend dress pants i have.

do you wear any particular type of pants material or do you machine dry the socks without any softener sheet? perhaps it is a sort of static cling effect?

I line dry the socks to preserve the elastic. Never put them in the dryer. The affected pants are all different - Banana Republic slacks, Paul Stuart suit pants - basically any unlined wool trouser that isn't heavy like tweed.

Yeah, happens to me too. Very annoying with certain fabrics. Ah, well...

Do you think wool socks would be better?

I've had that happen a few times whenever I get new pants. I just Static Guard the pant leg and the socks and it seems to do the trick.
