n00b Q: What is "drop"?

This might rank as a really dumb question--I am very ignorant when it comes to exercise stuff:

What is this "drop" that people keep referring to?

I see it both in this thread and in MC. I understand that it is a difference or ratio of some sort. I assume it's chest-waist, but I want to know the deal. Couldn't seem to find anything through a basic google search... Thanks.

What tj said. If it is the drop of a suit, it will usually reference the drop in chest size to the waist size of the pants that accompany it. Other times it can relate to chest size of a coat compared to the waist size of the coat.
