Mytailor question - Thomas Mason vs. Executive Collection

I'm getting ready to make my second order from mytailor. The first shirt has some kinks that need to be ironed out, but it's a good start. My first order was from the two-ply superfine collection. I noticed the fabric is not as soft as my Thomas Mason and Monti Prince Rose shirts I've purchased from a local shirtmaker. Can anyone tell me how the executive collection compares to the Thomas Mason line and the two-ply superfine?

Also, I've heard that mytailor can send you swatches for select fabrics. Is this true?

I ordered two shirts from the MyTailor's Executive Collection a few weeks ago. I think I might get them in soon, and I can let you know. (but I don't have experience with the Mason fabrics)

The Executive Collection wool and cotton blend fabrics are Acorn. The Executive Collection plain cottons aren't as silky feeling as the Thomas Mason. Not unsilky, just less silky. Edited to add: I know nothing about them sending swatches. It would be nice if they did though. You should send them an email and let us all know what they say. They are pretty responsive.

I've got two shirts in Thomas Mason fabric from mytailor, the majority were with the Executive Collection fabrics. The Thomas Mason fabric isn't remarkably better, in fact it's a little papery and prone to fine wrinkles. I'd say only go with it if you like the pattern.

I'm getting the impression from these posts that the executive collection is not far off from the thomas mason collection. So on a scale of 1-10 in terms of the how good the fabric feels, where would you rank the executive collection and where would you rank the thomas mason collection?

They usually have this special where some Thomas Mason fabric is the same price as the Executive Collection. Just make sure you ask for it.

Executive Collection is indeed not far off of Thomas Mason in my opinion. Most Executive Collection clothes are $99 to $110, which is fair value compared to the Mason's at $125.

I default to the Thomas Mason, partly because it is a known quantity. I go to other fabrics when I can't get what I'm looking for in the Mason's. The wool/cotton blends in the Executive Collection, and Linen/cotton blends in the Monti Prince Rose series are good examples of things that can't be got otherwise.

P.S. I notice that Mytailor has added D & J Anderson fabrics. They are priced twice as much as the Thomas Mason and I have no idea if they are twice as good.

After getting in touch with Joe, who was very helpful, he's indicated he can send me a few select swatches if I still need to see and feel a few to decide which one I want, which is very good of him. With this type of service, it's hard to find a reason not to go with him.

What is their 2-ply superfine cotton (the step below executive) like? I tried one of the executive collections fabrics from them once and was very disappointed for some reason. Maybe I just got one of the cheesiest fabrics in that collection.

The 2-ply superfine is a step below executive collection in terms of price. There are plenty of attractive fabrics there, but the one shirt i got is quite cardboard like, so I'm very hesitant to order from that selection again.

Cardboard? That's unfortunate. I was thinking about giving My Tailor another try, but the executive collection shirt I got scared me away. Fabric just felt kind of lame, everyone else here reports positive stuff on the executive collection, maybe I'm just weird.
