Look. I know this is stupid. I know I don't need a tux.

HOWEVUH.

I've already been to three black tie events (it was optional black tie, but still).

There will be probably one more before the end of the year.

Should I? It really isn't that much, all things considered.

See? I need discouragement. Because I will do it. DISCOURAGEMENT.
Don't get it if you don't want to look suave at events where looking suave is the point. There. (Faux) discouragement. ?

But you want to look suave. So, get the tux!

Do it. Make it exquisite. If not for yourself, for others who, like me, are close to dipping their toe in the Divij custom pool.

I have a tux, have been to 3 black tie events total in the past 3 years, do not have any pending invites for a black tie event on the horizon...and I am still contemplating having Divij make me up a new tux!

In all fairness my current tux was my first MTM garment (from a different maker) and I would like to improve on the fit, quality, details, and fabric...

so the tux options on their website do not include a vest (which I would want. I might want to do a cummerbund but even OTR it wouldn't be that much cheaper for a nice one as opposed to a vest). But it doesn't include the shirt. And then, natch, I'd have to get opera pumps.

Long way of saying: everything else makes it dumb.

But I'm not ruling anything out.

Counter point: Once you have the accessories from the first order it just makes it more reasonable to buy your second and third tuxedos next year.

Just to be clear, if you’re a member of SF there is no such thing as Black Tie OPTIONAL. It’s in your contract. Step up.
I think it's in your specific contract to split the costs. Which means I am IN!

Dang, I normally lurk on here (Just to see what Andy has been up to, if nothing else.)
I live in the L.A. area - where do you guys go wearing these ?

Will be visiting Divij soon. If I could have some solid reason to get a Tux, I would.

Charity events? Rotary stuff? Even then, in LA? There’s almost no serious need for a tux, outside of desire. Get a standard suit if you’re looking for tailored wear.
