Some people argue that with a 3r2.5, you have the flexibility to button the 3rd button or not.

Uggh. Why would you ever want that option though?

Some people argue that with a 3r2.5, you have the flexibility to button the 3rd button or not. Some people like the longer roll in a 3r2, others like the symmetry of seeing the top and bottom button. The roll of a 3r2.5 is also often more voluminous while 3r2 are often flatter.

    All a matter of preferences

Thanks for the explanation. much appreciated.

November day, much like this one on the East coast. Tweed jacket, cap and scarf is all you need (if it weren't raining) and the whole is made more comfortable for the walk home from the pub when the tree buttons are done and the collar is flipped up so the lapels close over the chest.

    Anything else?

I don't know about you guys but my 3 buttons are all cut and rolled in such a way that buttoning the top button looks horrible and creates a big crater and makes the lapels buckle.

I don't recall ever seeing the top buttoned closed and finding it to be flattering. In fact, this has always stuck out to me as an unfortunate look. If it were cold outside I'd rather wear a waistcoat and stick with closing the 2nd button.

So then why get a true three button?

Personally, I wouldn't as I don't like them. I can see them on hunting/riding clothes with high button stances that you want to button up and cover the chest from cold. Still not a fran of the look.

How is the gorge? Was that the first fitting with the notch cut ?

Gorge is fine, shoulders are fine, sleeves are great. Tight around the middle. Mina has a different approach than me. I wore my Solito today, which she thinks is baggy. And I suppose it sort of is.

This morning... sun was just coming up as I left for the airport so the lighting was pretty poor. Don't recall having seen anyone post a NSM suit...

Is it just me, or do a lot of Mina's jacket's have slightly concave shoulders (vaguely pagodo-like)?

    Please don't say that [IMG]

I think it's the puffy Sciamatish sleevehead that gives you this impression. It's very unfortunate.
