    Yeah, it's great.

My two other NSM odd jackets in this round are Barbera/Lesser Glen checks...one of them might give Greg's a run for his money.

I only picked up the four new jackets on Tuesday, but I expect that I'll wear the other three at some point shortly before it gets too cold.

It's more Steed-y weather here anyway at this point...in fact, a new jacket from Edwin is crossing the pond right now.

If you desire French shoes and if price is no object, you could inquire if Paul Wilson, from the NYC JLP, travels to Boston.

anthony is on the countryside. measuring takes no more than thirty minutes. you could have it between the starter and the main course.

Taken after I picked up my NSM jacket from a fantastic alterations tailor I recently discovered who cleaned up the chest and sleeves. This SC is just where I want it to be now.

Why would you have someone else work on that jacket? I'm sure Mina would have been more than happy to make any adjustments that you might have requested.

It was clear that our end goal was different. In my previous fitting I had said quite specifically that I was looking for a leaner chest and arm but on the next fitting these things were hardly altered. The jacket is beautifully constructed - I love the shoulder, lapels, quarters, etc. - but Mina was insistent on it having a full, rounded chest and sleeve. To be honest, I didn't want to wait another 6 weeks or so to find that it still may not have been what I was looking for.

Ahh stubborn tailors, I had a similar experience with Steed. The term bespoke can be misleading since quite a number of such tailors are really only willing to make you a house cut with only slight variation, albeit from scratch. You might have better luck with the tailors out there who are more akin to, for lack of a better word, apparel engineers... guys who are less concerned with style, tradition, or maintaining a house image, and more with the technical aspects of drafting, cutting, etc, like JefferyD. I'm working with a guy in the garment industry at the moment who is very deferential and getting much closer to the ideal cut I've failed to get with the usual fashion tailors. This way at least I can blame only myself when it turns out crappy ;)
