My trip to Tricker's

    I should thank unbelragazzo also for the unexpected pleasure of getting to see the boots as they were being constructed (not to mention for sharing photos of the factory visit). Much appreciated.

    Great post and great photos of the tour, really interesting to see. I don't have a pair of Trickers yet but have been thinking about getting a pair.

    You've really been doing the rounds here.

    As you say, they have a tractor-like quality - indeed, I find the Tricker's shape just a little too rustic, but I suppose that is part of their unchanging style. I feel Sargents may have the edge, however, in terms of making true heavyweight brogues.

    Such an iconic boot. It's always interesting to see how the purely functional details have (and will) morph into more aesthetic shapes.

    Did you ask them some questions about their bespoke service, what's the difference in construction etc.
