My Only Four Suits: Keep, Tailor, or Trash? (Photos)

Company info sessions, cocktail parties, and interviews are coming up. As one of the few people at my school who didn't spend the last 5 years working in investment banking with $10k wardrobe budgets, I need to figure out how to revamp my wardrobe.

I finally threw out my old MW suits. These are the four that remain. Which ones would you keep? Or tailor? Or trash?

Suit #1 (Thick as Thieves MTM):

Newbs opinion but I think the 3 peice "vintage" has the best fit and look out of all three..... Were the MtM, MtM for you or someone else?

I thing they're good and would hold on to them (though you need to stop buttoning the top button on the 2B - button the bottom). I think you're off to a good start. The Ravi is the shakiest of all, but I think are all 4 are better than most of the new hires I see wearing.

I love that 3 piece vintage! Get rid of the solid pink tie, too "trumpish".

The rest could use some work.

I, too, am a fan of your vintage eBay score. The other 3 are just ok. They seem to button high for just a 2-button. Makes it appear that it's a 3-button with the smaller lapels.

#3 Ravi is the worst-looking, problem is, all your other suits are grey.

I would just keep them until later, when you buy others. 4 suits is not that many.

I think all three look okay and can probably get by with more or less tailoring.

You shirt sleeves seem a tad long or the coat sleeves are consistently short.

If you expand your wardrobe, think Navy!

I really like the fit of the 3-piece, too! I'm just not sure where I can actually wear it. It doesn't seem quite as business appropriate. Yeah, none of the others are perfect. My opinions: #1) I feel like there's a lot of extra fabric around in the jacket waist. Not sure if that's just "the style" or if I should have it taken-in some by a tailor. #2) Fun! It's a very heavy fabric, but it fits well. #3) My least favorite, but it's actually navy. Hence, it's the one I'll probably end up using for conservative interviews. I might try to have a tailor take a bit of the shoulder padding out if it's possible. #4) I like the fit of the jacket, but the pants are a bit tight (and it's a thin fabric). Not much I can do about that. Any other suggestions / thoughts? By the way -- the tie is actually a pink with a subtle pattern, but it's hard to tell in these over-exposed photos.

I like the 3 piece vintage as well, very cool suit.

They seem a little bulky, but that can be tailored for the most part. I must dissagree with 82-Greg, however, as I see nothing wrong with your sleeves. Cuff is good.

I can't think of a man's garment, including sweaters, vests, suit or sport coats, where the bottom button is buttoned.
