I am split between these three shoes:

Santoni FAM split toe Baird in 9.5 ( size like a 10) $412:

Sutor Mantellassi on virtualclotheshorse in 10.5 (hopefully sized like 10) $399:

Or
Amadeo Testoni in 9.5 UK (hopefully size in 10) $289:

I dont mind any of the styles and /or colors.

Just want a well-made substantial shoe. Prices are all similar and their original retails are all close to a thousand dollars.

So which would you choose?

my order of preference:

1. Testoni. I like the coloring (it that's anywhere near accurate) and the sleek last shape

2. Mantellassi. Unique color, the large toebox makes me think of this as a really cool casual shoe to wear with jeans

3. Santoni. nice. kinda blah compared to other FAM i've seen. the equivalent of buying a $20 scoop of vanilla ice cream

The Santoni. I have it in two colors and it's a great shoe. The long split is just unusual enough that it's not your ubiquitous split toe blucher but still conservative enough for work etc...

Testoni w/o question, then Sutor then Santoni, which are kind of ugly to me; the seams are much too heavy IMHO.

You take a 44 in Vass (size 11), an 8.5 in Kiton which fits like a 10.5 and you are looking to buy size 10 shoes?????

I dont know why but that is how it is maybe my feet enter a different dimension of time and space within each insole.

Vass 44 is correct for my feet (not loose , not snug). 43 is TOO tight.

10-10.5 D US in Edward Green/Polo is correct for my feet (not loose, bit snug)

8.5 Kiton is slightly snug ( i recently tried 9 and it fits correct)
I just went by 8.5 by what i read here on the forum; they said to go down 1 1/2.

i wear 10 D in AE westgate (not loose, not snug)

I would buy any Amadeo Testoni that is under 300, these shoes are just a work of art.

While testonis may run .5 to big, or long more like it, the low instep makes the fit pretty snug. So a 9.5 UK should fit 10.5 US pretty dang well.

We know you love your thick, rich leathers Dior. Personally, of those, the styling of the A. Testoni is more to my taste, but I don't care for the feel of the shoes usually. The FAMs tend to have a bit more substance to them, but I'm personally not a split toe blutcher kind of guy. Mustard colored shoes frighten and intimidate me, but you're a wizard on the antiquing, would be interesting to see what you come up with.

Ok, that was no help whatsoever.

Your feet are weird! I'm a Vass 43, 8.5 Kiton.

9.5/10D in EG, 9UK Lobb.

Seriously though, this is the reason why shoes must be tried on prior to purchase.

Dior,

I can highly recommend the Santoni Baird in the top pic. I have a pair.
