My new suit from Suit Supply, your thoughts?

So I exchanged the 40R for a 42R but I had some alterations done. I had the waist taken in and length of jacket shortened as it was kinda long. I also had the pants shortened half an inch. What do you think of the sleeves? They charged me $40 for all these alterations, the pants were free. I had to pull out my shirt sleeves a little, so I would show them, maybe I would benefit from having the jacket sleeves shortened like half an inch?

It is not perfect but this will do for now. I can’t afford real MTM let alone bespoke. I paid $550 for this suit plus alterations. That's the highest I'd go since this is just for special occasions as I didn't have a suit.

Thanks. Kind regards.

That's too short. It was a mistake to shorten the jacket. Not sure how tall you are, but your legs seem pretty long, so you can easily afford longer jacket.
Buttoning point seams too high. Makes me think that you are very tall, and should have gone with L.

I'm only 5'11 lol this jacket length is longer than the 40R I had before.

The 40R jacket length was shorter. I don't know, can the jacket be let out after this? It was too long before.

Your jacket is too short.

If I take it back to suit supply, is it possible to let it out or am I screwed? and how many inches do you think it should be let out? I told them to shorten the jacket, not as short as 40R and they probably just shortened to 40R length

How much did you shorten it? IDK, could be the angle, but looks short to me.
(Don't get me wrong... 99.9% of the people you'll meet will tell you you look great).
About the sleeves, I think they're fine. Maybe you need longer shirt sleeves.

The angle could make it look shorter, I'll take other pics

I had a 40R jacket before, here is the pics

I clearly told the guy. I want the 42R jacket to be shortened between the 42R and 40R, the 42R was past my crotch, and these fools probably just shortened it to 40R. How many inches should I ask to be let it out?

The photos may be making it look shorter as well, the camera is positioned lower. I'll take more photos in the mirror

Too short.

How many inches should be let out based on what your observations? I'm tired of going back to that place and never getting a decent fit. Is this or that. It's always something.

As I said in a previous thread, your best bet is to stop telling people what to do. Find a good store with good sales associates. Consider how much time you put in going back and forth, back and forth. Factor that into your calculation on how much you spend. Bring your budget up, go to a good store, ideally in person, and get fitted by a sales associate who can guide you. Do not tell the sales associate what to do, how to alter things, etc.

Not a tailor but my understanding is that shortening a jacket usually involves recutting the lower fronts of the jacket. So it may not be possible to lengthen it. I’d talk to SS though.

I just called suit supply and they said they only shortened 2 centimeters from a 42R. If you look at my new picture, the length is pretty much the same as my previous 40R jacket. I don't know. They told me to go so they can take a look at it, but said that it can't be let out so I don't know will have to exchange again

I don't think it looks that short in the new photos I posted, I've seen worse online but maybe I should'nt have shortened it

I think is the fact that suit is bigger than a 40R so it appears to be shorter even though is same length as 40R

Here are comparison photos is pretty much the same length as my previous 40R jacket, maybe even a tad longer. The pictures in my op make it appear shorter than it really is because of the angle is taken, but I'd probably benefit from one extra inch in length.
