I just bought these. At first I thought they were resoled but then I realized that it is a Thames sole. Am I correct? The seller says that they were worn once. Does anyone know what model these are? Is it a rebranded Malvern? I'm excited about the Thames sole since the pavement here in NY is constantly covered with grime and salt. Also, does the F width 202 run very wide? The D width was a bit tight in the toe box so I decided to go for it.

I've seen it mentioned a few times here and on AAAC. It is not in the EG catalogs in the Shoe Pictorial Index but I found a picture on SkyValet's website in the MTO EG section.

Looks like the Malvern to me. Great buy. I love the Thames sole. It is so comfortable and holds up surprisingly well. I have a pair of Sandringhams with it also an F width on the 202. It is quite wide, like a true US E width I'd say. Are they rebranded or just using PL trees?

What is a Thames sole?

Is this EG's answer to Alden's and G&G's use of crepe?

Thanks! They are made for RLPL. It's interesting because I've never seen a pair of RLPLs with this sole before.

Thames sole is a thin rubber sole made to look dressy. You can't tell it's a rubber sole from the side view.
