My new Allen Edmond Delray's are PAINFUL

Hello fashionistas,

I bought a pair of AE Delrays about 2 weeks ago, and over the weekend, I wore them about town. My right foot was really bothering me, and in the car, I took them off along with the sock. I was pretty surprised to see that some of my skin was sheered off. I had only expected a boil, but this was even worse. I ended up buying some flip-flops at Target for $2.50.

Yesterday, I re-wore my AE Delrays, but this time, I had a bandage on my right foot where my skinning occured. I also wore two socks: An inner black gym sock and on top of that, some nice formal socks that are also black. By having two pairs of socks, I thought that this would "dampen" the poking feeling of the leather's crease as it jabs into my feet.

Although I did very little walking, my *LEFT* foot this time was bothering me. By the end of the day of doing mostly office work, I did not have any skinning or bruising this time, but I was very uncomfortable.

Guys, this was the worst shoe experience that I've ever had as far as I can remember. This is much worse than the high-top felt/suede shoes from Aldos that I own (did I just admit to owning a pair of Aldos?), which is too narrow at the top for me.

^ You wore TWO pairs of socks (one of them gym socks, nevertheless) and you're surprised that your feet hurt?

Did you buy the right size?

If you wore two pairs of socks and still got the shoe on I'd say they might be a bit too large; this would explain the rubbing and skin loss.

Are you sure the Delray last (the 8 last I believe) is right for you?

The shoe is bluntly stabbing me, QFR. By wearing more padding, the stabbing sensation is less. Wouldn't you want to cover your bed of nails with *MANY* layers of blankets before sleeping on them?

YES. I wear 10D - always have and always will.

It's the leather's creeses, which "stabs" into my feet.

I'd like to clarify that when I first wore the shoe out-and-about town over the weekend, I DID NOT wear two socks, and I had skin sheer which required bandages.

Yesterday, when I wore the AE Delrays, I did *NOT* bleed or have skin sheer, and I DID wear two pairs of socks.

Is this your first pair of AE's? I find the 8 last is a bit narrower in the toe box than the 5 or 0 last. If possible, try on a Park Ave (5 last) or Bel Air (0 last) and see if the crease puts a lot of pressure on your toes.

The last is probably wrong for you. I bought a pair of Park Aves in black after hearing so many good things about them and I wore them once only. They just feel uncomfortable. I don't think it's anybody's fault, just the shoe is wrong for your foot.

Of course, there might be a defect, too. It's hard to tell without looking at the shoes in question. Maybe you should contact AE's customer service? I've read many positive reviews about their service on this board.

P.S. Now that I think about: Anybody interested in black Park Aves in size 9D? PM me.

This is not the fault of Allen Edmonds. It's your own error and lack of experience.
You chose the wrong size shoe for your feet in this model, pure and simple.

You haven't and you won't. There are many variations in shoe size.

Did you try them on in the store? Personally I don't bang with Allen Edmonds anyway, they are "old head" shoes to me.
