So, before my father unfortunate loss to cancer last year, he gave me a wonderful link to our past together, his imperial blue 69' corvette convertible.

I remember ridding in this car, which is ordered from Chevy new in 69 (I now have the original PO haning in my office)... and he did all of the work himself on the car until it lay dormant from the time I was about 10 until now.

The engine and transmission are both original (no warrenty replacement). I had a show paint job put on it, and leather seating.

After 10 months of work, the car is almost ready-- there was a flaw in the top, so they are putting another one on.... I drove it for about 20 min on tuesday, which is when these pics were taken...

When I pick it up... seersucker!

Enjoy!

Beautiful. Nassau/Le Mans Blue is THE color to have on a 69s era Corvette. be it C2or C3.

Sorry for your loss and fyi, I would've been able to appreciate this thread better if I were able to see the entire picture, try shrinking them next time.

As a long-distance lifelong admirer of Corvettes (never seen one outside an American/Classic car show here in England), I salute you, and your dad. Treasure this car, and pass it on to your kids/grandkids in another 41 years' time. This kind of car is what foreigners' dreams of Americana are made of.

The car is a terrific tribute to your dad. Great work on the car, and a marvelous way to pay tribute to his memory.
