Very nice collection for 2006. What's on your hit list for 2007? Where did you get the testoni pair?

Not so humble. 2006 was a good year. Are the Santoni from Ben Silver? If so, they look nicer than on their website.

That's a great collection. It's one of the better ones folks have posted imo. Each shoe has interest and they're all different enough but have enough consistent aesthetic to them to appear like they belong to a single owner's taste. My fave are those Ferragamo Tramezzas. The Santoni colorway is also awesome.

Thanks for the kind words fellas. I've got to say I owe a lot to the folks on this forum for education, insight, and a great place to help me develop my aesthetic.

Smart: You always have well-stated expressions. I bought the Weymouths just weeks before the Tramezzas, but got a good deal for the Ferragamos off the Sak's website and just ordered them to see what the deal was since they are well regarded by many here. They are similar in design and I didn't know if I would keep the Tramezzas. When I put them on, they were instantly comfortable, and they were keepers. The only problem is that there was a lot of creasing in the finish after my first use, something I attributed to the suppleness of the leather.

EL: Santonis are the Fritz Serrated FAM which is on a different last than the one on the BS site. I think those are Baird's, so the last shape is slightly different. I had my eye on those, but they didn't have my size, and too bad since BS has them at a good price. I bought them at Nordstrom's and the color, although labeled "dark brown" has a nice burgandy finish to it. The sales guy said when Andreas Santoni visited the South Coast Nordstrom to hand-finish some shoes (both in the stitching and antiquing) months before, he did the burgandy finish on some pre-orders, and they decided to add that finish to this year's offering.

Hit list for next year: none. I need to save for a house! I only started this collection in August, and that would have been a decent amount for a down payment for a car, which is another story.

I picked up the Testoni's at the Testoni store in Paris. Since both C&J stores were closed for August, I stumbled upon Testoni not knowing they were a decent brand. I saw these wingtips in black in the store window, and ended up with the cocoa color. Wish I had known about Santoni back then too since these European shoes are still a better deal there despite the weak dollar.

Beautiful shoes, all! How are the various shoe brands wearing now that you have had them a while?

I definitely have had favorites as I have added to my collection, but like children time may change that order somewhat.
