Just arrived from the spring DC tour stop......windsor in vintage cedar and the savoy in vintage chestnut. Both are the soft square (mh71) last. Two quick comments:

First, I am a 12/12.5 D US so my shoes are fairly long by default. I tried to stay away from exessive "pointyness" by going with the soft square last to some success. I think the next shoe might be in the round last but uncertain.

Second, at the spring showing Tony and I were discussing the "brown" options and he mentioned they were getting a new vintage chestnut color which was not in the catalog or on the wesbite nor did he even have a swatch yet. Based on his description I decided to go for it and here it is. My camera skills don't really show the color which is beautiful.

    untouched right out of box.

    Good work!

I also have the Savoy in vintage chestnut although mine appear much daker than yours. I have to say I prefer your lighter shade.

I'm thinking about incorporating the toe cap from the Windsor into my next MTO.

    Enjoy.

jjl....how dark is your vintage chestnut? I think mine are a tad darker than the pics but not much.

Nice looking shoes. I am also a size 12 and these look very elegant and not too big or bulky as some 12s do.

Thanks for all the comments gents.

JJL.....this is interersting. It looks like we have two totally different colors. I wonder if Tony/Dean could shed some light.

What an beautiful shoe and great color. The gentle point on the cap toe is a distinctive touch.

Very nice! I think this post has finally convinced me to get the soft square last when I order my pair.
