One question: I notice tremendous "fuzzies" left on my dress shirt ... everywhere. I didn't have that problem with my other cashmere sweater, which is not a cable knit, and, of course, is no RLPL. Is this common? Will it go away, or am I going to have to suck it up and grind the lint brush every week?
Pure handmade cashmere. Worth EVERY penny. And then some.
The shedding is a result of too short cashmere fibers being used to make the yarn, that in turn was knitted and became your sweater.
Usually RL's PL line has much higher minimum quality specifications for cashmere fiber than their blue line, so I'm surprised you're running into the problem. However I'm not totally surprised, because nearly all cashmere sweaters sold today are being made from Chinese produced yarn. The label might say Made in Scotland, Italy, or elsewhere, but that just means the sweater was knit and assembled in those other countries. It's still Chinese yarn.
As for what you can do about it, if it bothers you (and for what RLPL costs, it would bother me) the only answer is to return it. The shedding will get worse not better as the sweater is worn and washed or dry cleaned.
