I happened upon a picture of a tie that I really liked, on tumblr, a few weeks ago. I decided I wanted it, and I tracked down the original blog post. It came from an Italian, Bespoke shirt and suit maker, by the name of, Cordone 1956. I found his website, linked in his blog post, and on his website, was his email address.

I emailed him, and asked if the tie was available. He said that they are bespoke only, that he would send pictures of swatches, and I could decide if I wanted one. There were about 20/25 different colors to choose from, and I decided on one of the browns.

From the time I ordered the tie, to delivery, was about 2 weeks. He answered all my questions via email almost immediately, the only time he took more than a couple hours to reply, was due to the time difference, if it was late at night in Italy. He was very patient with me, especially for a relatively small order, and in general seems to be a pretty cool cat. His english is a bit shaky, but that just ads to the fun.

The tie is fantastic. Wonderfully constructed, unbelievably soft cashmere, and a great texture and drape. I could not be happier.

The only snag I had, was that I originally sent my payment via bank wire, and his bank must have deducted a fee, and he required me to to complete the payment. So as not to run into the same thing twice, I asked if I could PayPal him. He did not have a PayPal account, but he set up an account to accomodate my request, and the final payment went without incident. So if you do order from him, I recommend paying through PayPal.

Below are, his website, his blog, the tie that inspired my purchase, some pictures of my completed tie, and a few pics of his shirt making. Have a look at the blog, he really makes some great looking stuff.

I hope someone finds this interesting or helpful. :)

Great tie stiches. Did you order just the tie? Or the shirt in the last picture as well?

Nice find, thanks for the post.

But for those prices there had better not be a red dot anywhere near the garment.

    thanks!

red dot? if you mean in the pic, it was a stray thread, probably from the red stitching.
