So, I thought I'd share my first purchase of a bespoke sportsjacket and some trousers. Picture quality isn't too good - my apologies. And I've already noticed that it looks like one sleeve is longer than the other in the pictures- Its not :) Feedback or thoughts ?

Looks nice. I would suggest getting more open quarters and wider lapels on the next coat.

Is that Minnis Shetland?

Thanks - the lapels was a personal choice - only based on a RTW jacket I have, which I like. Actually never thought much about the quarters before - now I am !

And not sure if its Minnis Shetland - the tailor had it - and I just chose it, but I'll inquire next time I see him.

Lapels are absolutely fine as they are.

Not too happy about the sleeves at the should in the rear view.

Whilst braces with the trousers are an excellent idea, I might suggest that they are slightly questionable in the more casual surroundings of something for which a sports coat is preferable.

How many fittings did you have with this tailor. Agree about the divots, and front balance looks a little short.

I'm not to happy about the divots either ! Thought a lot of you guys would make a note of it. Maybe my own fault - cause I rushed the tailor a bit. So had a total of 4 fitting - but the first three was done in three days - and the last one 14 days later ! I'm planning to have a suit made by the same tailor - so the shoulders will absolutely be an issue of interest when I see him again !

What is meant by : and front balance looks a little short ? My suit lingo is still basic - should the jacket have been longer in the front or ?

And, am I correct in assuming - that the divots, in this case, are caused by the shoulders being made to small ? I know theres a lot of threads discussing divots - but it seems pretty straight forward in this case - as it is actually my shoulder that is "sticking" out !

I really like the colour as well

I think you need slightly wider shoulders and quite a bit more room in the sleeves to cater for those substantial upper arms.
Front balance is short means the jacket hangs too much on the back of the shoulders, making the front appear shorter and stand away from the body. A tailor can no doubt explain this better.
The sleeves may be of equal length, but your arms probably are not. That's why it looks uneven. Easy alteration for a tailor.
I'd also opt for wider lapels next time, your broad shoulders and chest need that.
The back looks nice and clean and the cloth is great.
Can't say anything about the trousers, photos are too dark...

@EliodA Thanks for the input - Are in the process of having a double breasted suit made with wider lapels - I might opt for bigger ones on my future sport coats as well.

But do you really think I need wider sleeves ? I already thought they were almost to big :) Have to check it, when I wear the coat again.
