This afternoon I watched Ripley's Game, based on the Patricia Highsmith novel. In it, Reeves, played by the wonderful Ray Winstone, is in a restaurant. The 'truffle waiter' brings the goods to be shaved onto his dish. After four or five slices, the waiter stops and is about to leave when Reeves says 'More', to which he obliges, reluctantly. The stop/start is repeated for three or four times before Reeves is satisfied with the amount on his pasta. I was mentally calculating what the final value of the truffle helping must have come to.
