I'm moving into my first condo September 30th. I don't really own anything so I'm completely starting from scratch. I figured I'd start a thread to track my progress and to get input from the forum. The layout: 1332 sq feet. [IMG] What I've bought so far: Knives [IMG] Flatware [IMG] Things I'd like to incorporate: Mid-century modern furniture Home automation A couple DIY art projects Peter Lik photography What I need: Well, I need a lot considering all I own is knives and flatware. Most importantly I think I need more ideas! I'm meeting with a designer in the next couple weeks but I'd like to have a better idea of what I want by then. I've been religiously following http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ the last little while but nothing there really strikes. Where else should I be looking?

What are you using to keep the edge on the Globals?

And the G-2 would of been sufficient for almost all your needs.

Is the apartment furnished (seems that way from the floor plan) or are you trying to buy MCM to furnish it? Nice grab. Seems pretty sick for someone our age.

I have no idea. Honestly, I was just thinking I'd take them somewhere to get sharpened when the need arose. Should I just be doing it myself?

No, it's not furnished. That's just the general layout of the place. I have to buy everything. And thanks, it's a pretty nice place. I'll post pictures once I get possession.

You need a steel, dude. Global makes ceramic ones for their knives. Maintain the edge, and you could avoid trips to the sharpener. And you have to be gentle with Globals when maintaining the edge.

Okay I'll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion.

I think this thread is about more important things than keeping the edge on his knives...

Like finding a table to put food on

Those knives will probably cost more than the table he gets.

Haha good point. I don't know what type of table I want but I love the look of these chairs:

Ligne Roset has some good looking stuff. I believe they have a location on Edmonton.
