I went to lunch with a girl from hs (not a date I'm engaged) that I haven't seen in a few years and after giving the waiter my check card he comes back a few seconds later "I'm sorry sir your card was declined." I was embarrassed and felt like an idiot and handed him my credit card.

I went to the bank after lunch and they swore a guy called in and claimed they were me and that my card was stolen and to send me a new one. What is weird is that they confirmed my real address as the one to send the new card to. I wonder if someone knows that I'm never home and was going to try to take it out of my box or what. I had almost 2000 in my checking account and my bill was only $28 plus tip. The girl I was with is a very old friend but is the type that will tell everyone we mutually know that my card was declined.

Now I'm on some sort of security alert at the bank which is going to screw me over with all the online purchases I make are now going to have to be confirmed on the phone.

I will seriously shoot someone if I see them touch my mailbox.
