was in the film The Great Escape, where they doctor up the uniforms. Anyone recall that film?

I was just reminded of it in the thread on SB to DB.

Mine's the one in the original Italian Job - after Michael Caine gets out of prison, he makes a stop at his tailor and shirtmaker. Those sixties cuts and patterns were great. I'm going to dig out the DVD and watch it again... [IMG] Now, are those shirts, or are those shirts? (Mr. Kabbaz, do you have anything like the one on the right? I think I could splurge on maybe one shirt a year... [IMG] )

Nick, you beat me to that. I was just thinking about that myself.

I have spent over 10 minutes watching the less-than-one-minute spot when Pierce Brosnan was getting his overcoat fitted by Campagna --- I kept my finger on the pause button.

Sometimes I think the people on this forum are a little strange. [IMG]

A "little?" [IMG] I also like the scene in the last Bond film when he escapes from North Korea and shows up to the HK hotel looking like a bum and having the concierge actually recognize him. He of course, gets his usual suite, inquires about the menu...and has his tailor (with some shirts) sent up. koji

I remember a show where this tailor told his son about 'listening' to the fabric rubbing the fabric together with his fingers. He will listen to it and he will know whether it will make a good suit or not... anyone know the title of this show?

Tailor of Panama - not a very good movie, but the beginning suit-cutting scene was neat.

Gotta agree with all so far. The scene in "Thomas Crown Affair" is so cool, yet so short. I love the dialogue that goes on during that scene as well. All the rest of the people are talking business and there's Tommy, gettting his suit cut. The Tailor of Panama opening was neat too, mainly because when I first saw it I had no real idea how suits were made. Now I know how complex it is, and this guy is doing it all by eye and hand. Lovely.

The scene from Thomas Crown wasn't very interesting to me since it just showed a couple seconds of a fitting.

Hey, it's better than nothing, at least you get to see what Campagna looks like.

There's a great montage scene in "Snatch" where Benicio del Toro arrives in London and gets fitted for a variety of different outfits. Short but sweet.

Nice to see him action though, albeit briefly. koji

    In agreement.
However, considering that Campagna's suits were such a significant part of TC's appearance and they showed Crown's closet full of (I assume) Campagna suits it would have been nice to see a bit more of Campagna in action. I think that they could have pulled it off without making the movie into a Gianni Campagna infomercial.
