Start on Madison up north at Peter Elliot and walk south to Bergdorf men, then take the F train to Houston and see all the indi shops east of Broadway. Lunch at Balthazar then hit West Broadway and walk down to Century 21.

What's the best way to get to the UES from Greenwich Village? Lexington Ave. Express?

It depends where in the Village and where in the UES. But yes, the Lexington Line (the 4,5,6) is probably your best bet. Please note that the express (the 4,5) sometimes doesn't run on the weekends and that most of the Village stops are local (6 train) anyway.

You might try the F train from West Fourth St. (4th and Ave. of Americas) to 63rd and Lexington or, if you want to start at Bergdorf's, 57th and Ave. of Americas -- Bergdorf's is at the corner of 58th and Fifth Ave.

And the N,R,W goes from Broadway and 8th Street to 5th Avenue and 59th--across the street from Bergdorfs and Vacca and a block from Barneys.

...and people dare say new yorkers are rude! the fellas above just named every possible subway route. if you still have a little gas left (aka credit cards not maxed out) i suggest stopping by stapleton shoe co at 68 trinity place - right off broadway and trinity place. its only 3-4 blocks south of century21. they have a really decent selection of aldens there along with other respectable shoes at very very reasonable prices.

East of Broadway I'd check out Seize sur Vingt, Duncan Quinn, and Groupe. Steven Alan and Barker Black are there but I don't care for it.

Isn't Seize sur Vingt known for their surly/snobby 'tude? I've never found them very hospitable at all.

Personally, I find the experience in Steven Alan very nice--salespeople are always friendly, and they are one of the few carriers of arguably the best deal in world-class shave soaps anywhere, the classic $8 tube of Musgo Real. None better.

So Commemera, what were your impressions of the event?

Your silence on your trip would waste the effort of that infamous thread as well as the free ticket. Where are your usual pictures cavorting with various peoples?

No mention of Connemara in the post-CSE bar thread. Perhaps met up w/ Vaclav beforehand, to experience the beer garden.
