I watched a short documentary on hg wells on my flight back from London today, I don't remember the name but its narrated by Ridley Scott. Very intriguing documentary, it seemed shorter than it should have been but still worth seeing.

The book goes way more in depth, but the movie actually covers several things that are not in the book, even the revised edition.

another +1 for the bill cunningham documentary.

man is a legend and im so glad to see he is so active and healthy at that age; his passion for his job is probably what keeps him so alive (literally and figuratively).

"The Dust Bowl" - this may be Ken Burn's finest work. Burns likes to use photographs in his work which he pans, the quality, depth and emotion of these photos is extraordinary.

Mother of God. Unbelievable what lengths people go for this. A woman with 800 piercings? Very interesting behind the scenes look at how Guinness employees do their job.

Inside Guinness World Records (ITV1 London)

^^ It was spectacular. For those who never say him, this guy had 'the best there ever was' almost written in cement. I remember watching that play where he got hurt.

Another superb ESPN Films documentary is "The Marinovich Project". If you don't know Todd Marinovich, he was a prodigy quarterback. He played HS ball about the same time I did so I watched his HS career closely. The guy broke the all time HS passing record. It went bad for him. Great documentary.

    Very interesting documentary on PBS

    PBS Independant Lens:

Park Avenue: Money Power and the American Dream

It chronicles the idea that America is the most upwardly mobile country in the world.

Making 'The Shining' (TV 1980), great, not just for fans of the movie
Everyone Stares: The Police Inside Out (2006), amazing, even if you're not a fan of the group
    Trouble the Water (2008)

I can watch any Ken Burns or espn 30 for 30 doc any day however I find Helvetica oddly interesting. Watched it on Netflix on a lark. Who knew a document about of a font could be so damn interesting?

It was interesting. Especially all the details about how to create a font. Its so every day, but how did it get there?
