I picked up a Barry Bricken linen casual shirt today that is, ostensibly, "Dry Clean Only". As it's 100% linen must I, in fact, dry clean it? Could I not wash it on gentle and hang dry like I do all my nicer shirts?

Gentle wash and line dry works for me.

I wash gentle in cold water and drip dry.

Iron the shirt while still damp for best results.

Care labels are to protect the maker, not the garment. If the drycleaner ruins it, the drycleaner is on the hook. If you clean it....

I wash our linen shirts and iron them damp.

Okay, shirt was washed in cold water on gentle cycle, ironed damp. All seems well. Just in case, I have my five year old and two year old in waiting... [IMG]
