The Arcade Fire reside in Montreal, Quebec

Yeah, once saw them at a salvation army for like $8 at the door so I sincerely doubt they were touring. Plus they're so Mile End (anglo hipster/student/broke musicien quarter in MontrÃ[IMG]al) it hurts (just like wolf parade).

Arcade Fire....i heard they sold out the Hollywood Bowl last year (??!!!) I saw them at a big music fest last year and their set made my ears bleed. unlistenable, for me at least. Cool name for a band tho.

Um...is that a fairly subjective review or do you actually think they're bad? Just wondering. Their live shows are actually what got them signed by Merge...so high intensity and amazing. In my opinion. [IMG]

And is anyone else excited as me about the week after next? Considering how few and far between good releases have been (and how most the big releases have ended up pretty mediocre: YYYs, Flaming Lips, Mogwai, Strokes, etc.), May 9th will be a breath of fresh air with Gnarls Barkley and Danielson's newest being released on the same day. I'm one of those people that held out against the bootleg so I have only heard "Crazy" from the Gnarls album, therefore I'm super excited.

Tickets are still available, aren't they? I kind of want to go but I'm not a fan of Merriweather.

By the way, everyone who doesn't have it yet go buy the new Danielson. It's great.

And Thom Yorke's solo album sounds very, very intriguing. [IMG]
