Was any of that recorded during your lifetime?

I might have to slap you upside the head for the Vanilla Ice, but you've got enough quality stuff there to earn some leeway.
BTW, it's "Mungo Jerry", not "Jerry Mungo". I think that was my high school best friend's favorite non-Creedence song.

Three other nits on your list JB:

- It's not "Sting and the Police", it's just "The Police"

- It's not "Sending out an SOS", it's "Message in a Bottle"

- The Police never recorded a song called "Purple Sun" to my knowledge - they do have a song in their catalogue entitled "Invisible Sun"

If you want to score brownie points with your wife, and she likes doom with cookie-monster vocals, recommend this relatively new Portugese band called Process of Guilt. Their new record Renounce is a masterpiece. You can hear a sample song here (warning direct link to a LOUD mp3): http://www.aversionline.com/blahg/audio/procren1.mp3

The albums Anathema did after TSE were complete crap in my view. They went all Pink Floyd and **** instead of sticking to what they excelled in. Alternative 4 is one of the most dissappointing albums I have heard in my life.
Will check out the band, thanks!

Right now on my IPOD there's a lot of Metallica, Mudvayne, 50 Cent, Nickelback, Korn, etc. I only use my Ipod when working out. Otherwise, I listen to all kinds of ****, especially metal, punk, ska, and gangsta rap. But my favorite is, and always will be, Johnny Cash.

Thanks for the corrections guys, I'll make some updates tonight when I sync my iPod. I'm not actually sure how many of the songs I have were recorded during my life, most of today's music isn't stuff I'm into.
