Since it's been resurrected, I may as well add to it with some recent purchases of mine:

    1. Atelier La Durance Prescott Selvage: this is not a slim jean, despite always being under the impression that it was. The waist is undersized and the thighs are big. One of the best jeans I've purchased. My 38 measures 36 in the waist and 14 inches across the upper thigh; my 36 measures 35 in the waist and 13.5 inches across the upper thigh.

    2. My SC Okinawa: This must be the ultimate big thigh jeans. 36 one wash measures 34 in the waist and a whopping 14 inches across the upper thigh. For someone with a smaller waist and bigger thighs, this is it. And if you have the thigh muscle to fill in that 14 inches, there will not be any hip flair. I guess we can throw the SC Hawaii in the same boat, but I don't own one ...yet.

    3. Chimala baggy selvage: size 34 measures 34 in the waist and 13 inches across the upper thigh, with a 9 inch leg opening, making it pretty relaxed. To be sure, it's not baggy, but I disagree with the assessment that they fit like an APC Rescue or Nudie RRDS with the same waist measurements. They're more relaxed than those. Bought them for $77 courtesy of the Farinelli's sale and the whodini/Zissou discussion on them. The denim looks, feels, and bleeds identical to my sugarcane Oki.

+1 on the Okinawas. I just got a pair form the Context flash sale a couple of weeks back and they're unbelievable. The denim is the most unique I've ever seen and the cut is full and comfy. rise is probably too high for 90% of forumites but that's just about perfect for me. mine are the Raw version and after the hot soak they shrink pretty damn close to tagged size. I expect they'll continue to shrink when they're washed too so they should be perfect then.

I know all about this problem. May I add to the solutions: Naked & Famous Slim Guy (you might have to size up one inch if you've got really big thighs) 3sixteen Straight Leg Selvedge Uniqlo Vintage Chinos (okay, they're not jeans, but they fit great on my big-ass legs)
My SC Okinawa: This must be the ultimate big thigh jeans.
And thank you for this - I'm going to check these out right now.

    Perfect thread for me.

I would be happy with my beater Levi 514s if the leg openings weren't fucking 8.5".

I guess tapering would be out of the question.

Maybe Self Edge would like to sponsor a "Biggest Legs on SF" contest? These must be some dude here who's a speed skater or Caber tosser, and only wears Zubaz pants. The winner gets the biggest-thighed jeans in the shop.

Hey, that could bring in a whole new customer demographic.

I'd enter. Currently down to a ~32" waist and up to 25" thighs. It's getting a bit out of control since I joined a rowing club and also bought a new bike.

Fortunately my newest pair of jeans have been most forgiving and are thus far stretching with me.

Think I'll have to get Okinawas after my Skulls and KMW Rockers no longer fit.

Nice searching, a bit of a reality check of how much information is out there if you're willing to look for it. Would like to see this kind of consolidation of old threads on more topics in the future.

Which is more "relaxed?" KMW 1950 or 2010?

I would like to see the a seperate FAQ forum added where only moderators could add (or promote) a post (such as this one) into the FAQ section. Having too many sticky posts in the SW&D forum for each common question like this would be annoying.

Oh, and KMW 1950's are really baggy in the thighs. I got rid of my pair for that very reason.

According to the chart below, the 2010. Let's stick this Farinelli's sizing chart here. It comes in handy. I've eliminated the jeans that wouldn't be considered relaxed at all, kept everything else, and highlighted what most here would like, apart from Japanese cuts, APC, and LVC - like the 55, 37, and 33.

Recent acquisition, probably my best buy so far of this year:

RRL: Straight Leg 36x34 raw selvedge (this one has a tiny RL stitched on the coin pocket and the old back pocket arcs)

Unlike the vanity sizing we see in a lot of the smaller sizes, I was fortunate enough to get these with a measured size identical to tagged. Maybe RRL get less vanity sized the bigger in size you go.

    Waist: 36
    Front rise: 13
    upper leg: 14 (yeah, 14!)
    leg opening: 9.5

Love the cut. The front rise takes a while to get used to, but after about a week of wear and everything starting to crease, I don't even notice it. Nice solid, deep blue heavy denim without alot of shine and more texture right from the go.

I must axe: is it possible to get proper fades with larger than match-stick dimensions?

So far I've owned a pair of Nudies and a pair of 501 STF, and neither had any fading beyond minimal crotch fades. I wore both pairs for 8 months after doing initial hot soaks.

I belong to the big thigh community. There's already an ugly hole in my 5 month old apc new standard. Do you have any recomendation for raw denim in the same price category as apc, but something that fits a big thigh guy? Not Nudie (I dont like Nudie)

I can recommend Epaulet's EP denim. I'm short, 5'7" and slim, but love to squat and dead lift. This usually means pants that fit my waist either need to be too baggy all over for my taste, or make it look my thighs are bursting out. EPs fit me really well.
