I was finnished with my work in Munich early this morning, and as my flight back home was late, I took the opportunity to stroll about the area around Maximilianstraße (and had a Spanferkl, a couple of Pils and an Obstler at Zum Fransiskaner.
Now, the issue is that I was surprised by how stylish most people looked (except the teenagers, who looked like idiots, just like back home). Apart from people wearing some "regional" clothing (but still looking stylish, not like if they were going to a costume party), ýou saw a lot of people really looking good. In general, I found people to look much more stylish than back in Madrid. I would say that I even found the "general" standard to be better than in Rome. Maybe I just had a "lucky day", though. But I wanted to mention it, because I understand that Germany is often regarded as a "stylish backwater", but maybe this is not the full truth.

You certainly had a lucky day. Nonethless it is untrue that there is no good style in Germany. There is a reason Germany was Kitons main market for several years...
Munich does have a particular attitude to style as well. People there are hard-working and wealthy and they like to show it - but still they like to pretend they have some of the Italian ways.
