This is a great piece of luggage and I guarantee that it will not only perform well, but you will get lots of compliments on it. I own pieces from the whole line and bought this particular piece thinking it was a little smaller than the one I have and it wasn’t. Kept it for reasons I can’t recall but need to clear some things out.

The design, appearance and construction of this bag is top-notch. Mulholland (look them up) uses only the finest fabrics, bridle leather and fittings. The bag is lined and has a special zipper pocket inside for small articles. The zipper on the bag goes both ways and all the way to the bottom for easy access. Shoulder strap (removable) and luggage tag included. Bag carries well either way –handles or strap.

This model is known as the “Boardroom Duffle”; I would assume the name was based on design of the outside fabric which is brown wool and chalk-striped at just under one inch intervals. The bag is fully trimmed out in bridle leather. Although the bag has never been used, and in the interest of full disclosure, I noticed some superficial scratches on the top layer of leather, which is characteristic of bridle leather and does not detract from the appearance. My other bag this size has the same scratches: never bothers me and the bag does not need to be treated with kid gloves.

The bag is 20” long, 13” wide and 12” high (when full, as photographed.) I cannot, unfortunately, tell you if this meets the requirements of a “carry-on” size for any particular airline for a couple of reasons: 1) I never take my Mulholland luggage on a plane; I have other “airline” bags; 2) I fly a lot of regional jets where it seems everything bigger than a toothbrush needs to be gate-checked and I am not submitting my luggage to that mess any more than I would check it; and, 3) every airline has somewhat different rules. Frankly, I recommend it as a weekender when you are traveling by car – it is just too nice to let the airlines have at it.

So, if you’re one of those guys who has always wanted a nice weekender but never got around to it, and don’t want to have to drop big bucks, here is your chance. Life is too short to have crappy luggage. Retail on these bags is about $500.
