Looking for an elegant old school leather rucksack to use on 2 week trips throughout EU and Asia.

I carry a bit of kit so needs to have some room.

Currently checking out this bag from Saddleback

http://www.saddlebackleather.com/squared-leather-backpack

and this one from Mulholland

http://www.shopmulholland.com/colle...gs-backpacks/products/american-bison-rucksack

The bison is stunning but the the overall build of the bag (canvas straps, zippers, and general slouchy appearance) make me feel it's a bit less durable.

...

I'll be traveling in EU during winter wearing this Lost World leather pea-coat
http://www.lostworldsinc.com/images/PeaCoat-7.jpg

and typically dress in black pants, black boots as well - wonder how the color of the Saddleback with go with the black pea coat.
- Tobacco reads as too light for my tastes but maybe will darken?
- Dark coffee brown feels like low end couch pleather
- Chestnut is nice but reminds me of my grandfathers leather desktop calendar
- Black just looks indistinguished

Opinions on color and mixing light colors with black leather coats?

Anyone have an opinion or alt recommendation for a heritage type bag?

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
