Hi,

I apologize in advance since I am new to the site, but what does MTM stand for. What does it mean? Please tell me the ins and outs of it.

Thanks.

MTM= made to measure.
meaning the garment is cut using your measurements vs. standard sizing.
there is plenty of debate over the terms custom, MTM and bespoke.

sometimes stock patterns are adjusted on the cutting table
sometimes patterns are made via computer
Sometimes patterns are made from scratch.

the terms are now all rather interchangeable, rendering any definitions as useless.

every tailor and shirtmaker and purveyor of garments made to order have their own methods.
they call it whatever they think will impress the buyer.
at the moment the term "Bespoke" which is an archaic British term, is the name that new companies use.

Sorry if this is not helpful.

I know someone will chime in and try to define the terms.
