Hi,
I usually commission my MtM clothing through my local go-to place. They use Munro (China) as their supplier. I guess more or less everyone here is familiar with Munro. A great amount of places use their factories, even SuitSupply used them before going in-house.
I was looking to commission either a raglan coat or a polo coat through my regular place, but got told that it wasn't really possible to order such coat configurations. I guess Munro hasn't added those designs yet to their overcoat range.
I found a new place that offers a wider selection of overcoat designs, that includes polos and raglans. Also offers some fun alternatives, such as a full canvas option, which isn't normally found as a design option for overcoats. When asked about where their stuff is manufactured, the sales guy told me that they make all their MtM clothing in Zegna's Chinese (Hong Kong specifically, if I remember correctly) factories. Furthermore, their prices were slightly cheaper than my standard place (Munro, as mentioned).
Does anyone here have any experience with the latter? Is there any quality difference between Munro's and Zegna's MtM products produced in their Chinese factories? Of course, the best course would be to commission something and see what the end result would be, but then I'd rather not spend money on something if the end result might be disastrous.
Thank you.
