I'm going to Malaysia at the end of the year, and am hoping to pick up some bespoke or MTM suits while I'm there. My question is, how much am I looking for MTM or Bespoke in Malaysia? Does anyone have any recommendations on where to go? I'll also be going to Singapore for a day trip so if I'll be better off getting stuff there, give me some suggestions.

No posts (but 1) should tell you something. While in KL, I would visit Shyam for C&J shoes and hold off on MTM clothes until a weekend excursion to Bangkok or HK. Air Asia has very cheap flights from KL to both cities as well as Singapore. Now, if you need a tailor in Bangkok or HK, you will get plenty of posts!

+1 on P.Lal. Do a search here, a member a few months back did a post with pictures of his KL trip, including a visit to Shyam's store.

There's a tailor in Parkson Grand at KLCC - looks to be some sort of concession or something - they do MTM shirts and suits - they had prices for non-fused suits. No idea if they are any good (didn't have time to try them out) and I can't remember what they were called. Prices were pretty cheap - canvassed suits from AUD$900+ if I recall and they had some nice swatches.

Yeah I was starting to think that. I'm going for a day trip to Singapore! So suggest away!

Hrm, perhaps I should have included a price range. I know $900AUD is cheap, but it's still outside my price range. I'm hoping for more like $300-500. Am I likely to find anything that's not dreadful for this price?

I wish my earning power was strong enough to go for $900+ suits, but it's not. Hell I wish I could go for Bespoke but I think that is well outside what I'm willing to pay for cloths.
