l picked up my MTM crocadile boots from Rekaris last week. l must say l am indeed very pleased with them [despite not making the boots exactly how l wanted]. For eg, l asked for the lining to be black (l always prefer black linings)but he made it bone. l didn't get exactly the toe shape l wanted either. When l ask Rekaris how he makes the boots, he evades the question; he has done this several times to me. The design on the shoo wasn't how l specified either. Despite my complaints l am very happy with them. Here they are: (sorry about the picture quality, imageshack didn't allow me to access the picture files in there normal way. l actually had to print the shoos on my printer). [IMG]

Marc - If you stuff the boots with wheatgrass juice it will magically turn the bone linings into black linings and fix the shape of the toe.

What sort of croc are they?? The scales are so small it looks like snake or lizard to me.

A.Harris: l'll ask Rekaris but don't forget Alligator has larger scales than baby crocidile. lt is the belly of baby croc.

Ernest- why don't you go eat some Freedom fries. Â [IMG] I like both pairs of shoes, but I'd definitely need to be in a confident mood to wear them.

Marc, I've been to several croc farms in New Guinea, and handled several "young" crocs. I have yet to see something with that fine a scale pattern, maybe like A.Harris said, a lizard.

Maybe they made you a goanna shoe?

If anyone would truly like to raise some eyebrows, check out stingray boots.  I've got a pair in black in addition to my brown ostrich boots.  By the way, how much of an atrocity is it to the British to wear boots with a suit?  The other day I took afternoon tea at the Phoenician resort dressed in a bespoke suit from Chester Barrie paired with my brown ostrich boots and a nearby table of old wealthy Brits were looking at me with an expression of sheer terror on their faces. It was quite amusing really.

l am a big fan of shoes done in exotic leathers but l have never seen skinray leather in person. l would dearly love to get bespoke Edward Greens in bullfrog leather. [IMG] P.S: the picture of my croc boots does no justice to the boots in person. They are comfortable and very striking in person.

From what I understand, boots were quite proper city wear with a suit in the early 20th century.

And Marc: I think you been had mate, them's lizard.

Marc, if they are baby crocs, would you know what age they were? Most of the baby croc skin I've seen are not large enough to make shoes, mostly used for fine watch straps.
