I've used them and they were decent value for the money although the stitching on two pairs of pants came apart three months later which struck me as odd. You can certainly do much worse for MTM in NY.

I'll let you know in 5-6 weeks. They are making my first suit for me now. I will say that he runs a tight ship. Ned is personable but when he talks he is very concise. Not the type of tailor you can sit there and talk to for an hour before making a decision. He's definitely busy!

Did they fix your pants free of charge?

I didn't ask, it was easier to let the cleaner sew them up but I assume they would have.

May I ask you what the problems were so I can try to avoid them?

I've been happy with my purchases: 2 suits, 1 odd jacket, and 2 pairs of pants. Everything fits well and was well priced. Not that he's authoritative, but at last year's CSE, Jon Green seemed impressed by the fit (obviously not the same quality as his stuff, but good value at less than one tenth of his prices).

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
