So this is the first time I am moving interstate in a long time. I wanted to see how you typically move your suits and coats?

Should I get garment boxes or simply fold them in a box? I've read that garment boxes often fall apart en route, while folding them might crease them in unwanted places.

Thanks!

A box with a built-in metal rod (on which hangers go) is an option. Of course hangers could slip off or suits could slip off hangers. Even so, provided a suit is not forced out of position for a long time, it should not be damaged. If using a third-party, get insurance, in case a box breaks or is lost.
