    Borat.

You're killing me. I fully expect to get home tonight and find Mrs. T and Iceman waiting at the front door to go see Borat. I was looking forward to it, too.

Mrs. T and the Iceman sounds like some sort of weird spin-off 80's movie of the A-Team and Falcon and the Snowman. It would be Mr. T's mom and Sean Penn's dad thwarting commie spies in Canada or something. [IMG]

Well, you may love it. I detested The Departed. I'm fifty one years, old. Very few new movies, appeal to me.

    I'm with the Seattle Post . . .

"movies that blow" : is 'blow' the new 'suck' in American English? When did this come into use? Is blowing the same, or worse than sucking? [IMG]

For me the word would be, 'disappoint.' Or in some cases . . . stink.

Now that I read back on it, that did sound sort of strange. Mrs T. is in fact my better half, and Iceman is our foreign exchange student from Iceland. He was scristened with that name by his fellow students almost immediately after arriving, and after an initial period of revulsion, he's accepting it.

I still have yet to see The Departed, and the likelihood of doing so diminshes with each passing day.

I did catch a segment with Borat on Fox News (god I hate Fox news) and he seemed to enjoy himself. What I enjoy most of all (from what I've seen) is the skill of portrayal and subsumation of the actor - too many 'actors' seem to play
cardboard cutout versions of a stock character: the Will Ferrell guy, the Adam Sandler guy, Bruce Willis, Jennifer Aniston, Kevin Costner. That someone can play any character at all is new and different, much less keep from smirking all the while.

Stand, warned, Thomas: Unless Mrs. T. can take graphic, and hideous, man to man sex, don't take her to this movie.

Is this Borat you're referring to? Holy cow I hope not. Then again, Borat does have that Village People look to him - add mirrored sunglasses and a leather cap and he's all set.

No no no...I doubt highly that Borat would be doing the gay sexy-time. It's probably some Uzbeks, because they have no morals.

    they made a Clerks 2?

    ew

I know the original is supposed to be a masterpiece of dialogue and it was shot for a buck forty nine and grossed like eleven bucks and therefore broke records or something, but I basically just thought it sucked.

I think the only Kevin Smith movie worth watching is Chasing Amy - which admittedly I thought was really really good.

I dont know what the draw for Kevin Smith is. The only movies I felt were worth watching more than once were Dogma and Clerks (both of which were only OK). Clerks the Cartoon was really funny but only aired two episodes before it was canceled. I thought J and Silent Bob Strike Back sucked and was for the most part not very funny (just like most of Kevin Smith humor).
