    the most morally dubious film in recent(ish) years has got to be never been kissed - the romantic lead male is all over drew barrymore when he thinks she's a schoolgirl, but hits the fucking roof when he finds out she's of legal age, ke???????

    yeah i saw Me Myself and Irene a few weeks ago, and in one scene the 'bad jim carrey' sleeps with renee zellweger while pretending to be 'the good jim carrey' so we are supposed to laugh at this, but im just thinking 'in another movie the good jim carrey would be defending himself in a rape case right now'

    Crash--avoid it, despite the win. A movie with "deep statement" pretensions that ultimately falls flat from ham-handed writing and acting and a parade of two-dimensional characters. Almost as bad as Falling Down.

    THANK YOU! Finally I found someone that shares the same opinion of Crash as me. I'm sure a lot of people will be moved by Crash, but I couldn't convince myself to like it that much. Not saying it's a bad movie, just not a great one, and definitely not an Oscar winning one.

    Also, where was the Asian peoples' redemptive moment at the end? What the hell...made asian people look like inhuman evil retards.

    except i don't reckon zelwegger would press charges because she seems to be a woman of somewhat 'easy virtue'[IMG] , and if it ever went to court the defence would be all over her cause she's crackers.

    i think crash aimed to wide and therefore left itself open to easy criticism, the same can be said imo of syriana - a bit more focus needed. neither are bad, and both have some very good performances/takes/themes etc. best oscar means NOTHING

    oh, the lord of the rings films blow - sappy soppy overblown asinine fantasy crap

    Anyway, it did have a redeeming point; Sanada Hiroyuki beating the living daylights out of Tom Cruise with a bokuto! If the film had more of that I may have actually liked it [IMG] .
    Talking of Sanada, shanmeless plug: watch "Tasogare Seibei" (Twilight Samurai). One of the best films I have seen in a while.

    It did have the first halfie conception as well, heh.
    Tasogare Seibei was an excellent film.

    Its an image I like to cultivate. It catches "The Man" off guard.

    WHile risking to sound like an idiot, Sanada is THE man [IMG] ! I absolutley loved that film - I grabbed teh limited edition Jaopanese version even though I only understand maybe 25 words maximum of Japanese for the GORGEOUS booklet and the (unfortunately Japanese only) "Making-of" disc. Edit: I have not seen CRash yet. GOod to hear some criticism, I should probably see it when it is released on DVD. On a sidenote, I really liked "Thank you for Smoking", definitely entertaining.

    Highly recommend it. I think I have a link to one place that had it (so you can see what it looks like)

    Found it => http://www.dvdasian.com/cgi-bin/dvdasian/15568.html

    P.s. there is a section on the second disc where it shows side by side the choreography notes for the duel scenes and the live action, very neat!
