I've never really been a watch person but I'm thinking about getting one. If possible, I'd like to get something that I can wear to work (business casual), just out on the town (button up dress shirt and jeans) and with a suit if I had to. I'm not sure if such thing exists, but I like the Movado Gentry.

I have no clue about watches.. what they can/can't be worn with, etc. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Bumping this ancient thread because I have this watch at home (bought it a few years ago), and wondering if people think it is good enough to wear.

Wait a few more years and then we'll tell you if you can take it outside.

If you like it, wear it. Don't be too concerned with what people say about brands. People will compliment you on the watch whoever the brand if they like the design. You don't have to have a Rolex, B or PP for people to appreciate your timepiece. To me the design looks nice.

Lol. Ok, the reason I asked is actually not as stupid as it sounded. I bought it a few years ago but the battery has been dead for a while. So my real question is: is it worth spending the money to replace the battery, or should I just spend $350 to get a nicer one, like a Hamilton Khaki King automatic:

Is it worth spending $4 to get your watch or is it better to spend $350 instead?!?

Pardon my ignorance, but I heard it cost like $50 to have a watch battery replaced. I've actually never had it done. Is that wrong?

$5-15 to change the battery, and then it's free to start looking for a new one! See, that way you know how much time you've spent searching. I like the Hamilton; I have a Jazzmaster myself (black dial, sorry, no picture at the moment) for dress occasions.

The Movado in the OP is not an unattractive looking sports watch.
