Just received a batch of unvarnished cedar shoe trees and found that some of them were mouldy. Â I've not had cedar shoe trees before but I'm pretty sure that's not what brand new ones should be like.
I'm guessing though that this can happen with cedar shoe trees after a bit of use (due to all the moisture absorbed). Â Should I be doing anything to the shoe trees to prevent this from happening, and is there any way of salvaging them once mould sets in?
