I've put about 100 miles on since moving to North Carolina. :(

Wait, what?? Dude, you have the Blue Ridge Parkway in your backyard!! Deal's Gap is likely a day trip depending on where you are in the state! Riding in the summer I can be a ***** in the south if you are riding congested streets with a steam cooker a few inches from your balls, but those open highways are fantastic! Get out there son!!

Not riding enough. Took a quick run around the neighborhood on the '76 Honda CB360T last night. Running rough right now. Frustrating old bike. Thankfully the new BMW R1200R more than makes up for the Honda's shortcomings.

It is mostly a weather issue. Coming from MN, I'm used to riding April-September. Now I feel like I want to ride September-April.

I'd do the Blue Ridge if I had a cruiser. I live in the Raleigh area, so it would be an all day ordeal, and I'd be dying with the Buell by the end of the day.

Yeah, I can understand that.. Still plenty of great highways near you in Raleigh though, and fairly short ride over to the OBX which is a beautiful ride, but I am sure you know that already..

Commuting with my Triumph Street Cup is such a joy in dry weather. It's only 6 minutes riding, half of which is in traffic or slowing down, so I don't rack many miles. I could do with a bit more power, but in practice, it's not really needed.

When it rains... it's doable.

So a buddy of mine texted me last night and informed me that he had traded in his hypermotard and did not get the 1299 Panigale that he had planned on. Instead he is now a proud owner of a 2017 Aprilia Tuono Factory.

Somebody kill me

So after a relatively short battle (he was diagnosed less than a year ago), my friend who bought the Tuono passed away last Tuesday from cancer. He wanted a bike escort to lead his funeral procession and asked his brother-in-law to ride his bike. I grabbed another friend's gixxer so this past Monday there were 2 sport bikes and 2 Harleys leading the procession from his Capitol Hill church to his final resting place in NW DC.

Pretty damn sad week

Sorry to hear that, must have been terrible news.

So Union Garage NYC had Vanson mod their classic AR2 jacket. They spec'd competition weight leather, moved the chest pocket to the right, chopped down those huge arm gussets, rotated the arms some, added d30 armour and stripped off all noticeable brand names, all for the low price of $950 (the regular AR2 is $620 from Vanson). Oh and they offer it in oxblood as well.

This is actually something worth buying. Would be nice if they offered it in horsehide tho.
