That's my worst nightmare. I just know that if I get a full faced that I wouldn't end up wearing it as much as a 3/4 because of the heat out here in Texas.

Believe me, it is hotter than f*** in Eastern North Carolina. I always crack the face shield up a notch if I am going slow enough for it to stay up. I will never own a less than full face helmet.

I don't think the open face would make much difference anyway. Perforated leather is the answer for me. If it is really hot I will soak a T shirt, wring it out and wear it under the perforated jacket. Nice and cool.

i've had plenty of crap hit the front of my full-face helmet while riding. some stuff that even threw me a little. if it would have hit my face i may have lost control of the bike. wear whatever makes you comfortable - for me, i'm trying to stay attractive to women off the bike.

cannot easily bold things in tapatalk but if I could,I would bold the last 12 words of that.

Also once I get moving there is plenty of air and the visor on my helmet is stable at speed on the crack points

Speaking of full-face helmets, this is probably my next one:

The HJC modular one I bought initially is a *************.

I get hit hard enough in my neck by just big bugs and small rocks that I can't imagine taking a stone to the lip or chin.

Do any of you guys have a goggle company that you would recommend? I got my Bell 500 in the mail today and absolutely love it, so now I'm on the hunt for some vintage inspired goggles that you can wear with glasses on. I've searched the googles and have only been coming up with the swimming style goggles that wouldn't be possible to wear with glasses.

I like my Bell Vortex quite a bit (in solid silver). It is Snell and DOT and has a lot of pieces straight from their high-end Star model. It uses the same visors as the Star which means the visor it comes with is high quality and there are a ton of options available for reasonable rates (a lot of cheaper helmets seem to have limited visor selection). A steal for the $160 or whatever I paid for it.

If I was going to get a fancier helmet, I would probably just get the Bell Star (or maybe the RS-1)

Yeah, I have a Shark which I don't like that much, had a Vemar that I loved, and could never justify the money for an Arai - I'd rather just use the money to mod my bike or get another one.
