Mothers and Valentines day

Is it ok to not give your mother a valentine's day gift and instead focus on Mother's day?

I've never given my mother flowers on Valentine's Day and find the idea a little strange, to be completely honest. That's what Mother's Day and Birthday's are for.

Yeah, it sounds a little Oedipal to me. I've never done it, but I'm not sure if it's an otherwise common practice.

I usually give a gift to my mother for Valentine's day, but this year I was lazy. My father died about 12 years ago so maybe I take this as a little responsibility that I should continue on.

sometimes i did and sometimes i did not give her a gift. but if i dont , i still call my mother and wish her a happy valentine's day.
