What is the most versatile jean you own ? I would say nudie reg ralf is mine as it looks good with pretty much any footwear and works with fitted or slightly looser on top.

RB6. I seriously like this cut. I wear my RRDS more often because they're the project jeans right now, but I'm impressed every time I put on my RB6. I like them so much I'm going to buy a second pair.

Probably 5EP Low down bootcuts. The color of the denim and the subtle detailing go with pretty much everything. I would say Nudie Straight Svens have a more versatile cut, but the orange stitching and back pocket detail are a little too rock and roll to go with a lot of more classic looks.

but doesn't a bootcut limit your footwear options considerably, thus making it un-versatile?
(admittedly, I'm not familir with the 5EP lowdowns boot-ness. If its a Helmut Lang style "bootcut", then I retract my objection)

It's a very subtle bootcut - about 1" difference between the circumference at the knee and at the hem, so the jeans appear to be straightleg at first glance. I think that the straight Svens, which have a lower rise (nearly a inch in the front and the same in the back,) and are a slim but not skinny true straightleg which is about 17" at the knee and the hem, are a more versatile cut.

LA Guy, if you were to compare the straight sevens to one of the japanese denim brands (pbj, sda, etc) would you say that the PBJ xx-003 would be the closest cut in similarity? Comparing the measurements from BIG to my own SS, they seem pretty close. And I'm guessing the measurments on BIG are pre-soak.
